Q. What the heck is "Host bibliographic record for boundwith item barcode..."
I found a record in OneSearch that makes no sense.
I received a notice from the library about title "Host bibliographic record for boundwith item barcode..." and a bunch of numbers. What's that about?

These records did not migrate well from our old catalog system to the new OneSearch. We are working on cleaning them up.
What They Are
In the old library catalog, we sometimes had records for both a book or journal series, for instance, Lecture Notes in Mathematics, AND the individual titles in the series, for instance, volume 1492, Fractals and Hyperspaces by Keith R. Wicks In the migration to the new OneSearch system, these records got merged together into the very confusing Host bibliographic record for boundwith item barcode 35129003709793.
How Can I Tell What I am Looking At?
When you are in OneSearch and find a record with the title Host bibliographic record for boundwith item barcode... click on the title to view the full record and look at the Details section. This will give you the name of the series and the name of the individual item. You can search on these by keyword in the catalog, as well.
You can click on the related titles to see the full details of the item.
"Host Bibliographic Record" on Your Library Account
If you are in your Library Account, you can also click the title in your list of Loans or Requests, view the full details, and see the actual item title as well.
If you receive a notice from the library with a "host bibliographic record" listed, search by keyword for the barcode in OneSearch. Or sign in to view your library account.
Requesting "Host Bibliographic Records"
Unfortunately, you cannot place a request from the related, "real," title. If you wish to request that a item be pulled and held for you or delivered from the Library Annex, you must navigate back to the Host Bibliographic Record.
For example when viewing the full details for an individual record, you will see a warning that "We couldn't find any items available for your selection."
Just click the link for the related title and place your request there.
