The Browse option in OneSearch allows you to search by headings such as authors, titles, subjects, or call numbers.

Browse is similar to an author, title, or subject search in the old library catalog and may be more precise than a keyword search.  Tips:

  • Your browse search terms should be an exact phrase or the beginning of an exact phrase.
  • Author names should be inverted, last name, first name.

Once you find results, click the link of the term you wish to browse to see results.

What's included in Browse Search?

Browse will include whole books, journals, manuscript collections, sound and video recordings, and other physical and online materials.  It will generally not include articles or book chapters.  If you need to perform a comprehensive search, use the Advanced Search feature and limit your terms to a specific field,  for example "lynda coon" in Author.
