I work or teach at another school or institution and am having trouble getting to library links to Ebsco.

We apologize for this inconvenience. EBSCO recognizes the computer address (IP address) of computers on a network and allows access based on the IP range of that institution.

So sometimes you see the EBSCO resources associated with your workplace or school instead of the EBSCO resources that the U of A offers.

There are a couple of workarounds for this:

For journal and ebook links

  1. Right-click and copy the link
    EBSCO Journal Title Item Record
  2. Paste the URL into your browser bar, for example
    https://search.ebscohost.com/direct.asp?db=a9h&jid=JRH&scope=site&custid=s8428489&authtype=ip,sso
  3. Remove the ip, from the section on authtype, for example
    https://search.ebscohost.com/direct.asp?db=a9h&jid=JRH&scope=site&custid=s8428489&authtype=ip,sso
    will become
    https://search.ebscohost.com/direct.asp?db=a9h&jid=JRH&scope=site&custid=s8428489&authtype=sso

That should bypass the local EBSCO databases.
