Q. Can I use a study room to take my standardized test?

I am taking the GRE (or LSAT, MCAT, etc) but need a room that will be quiet and reserved for 5-7 hours.

The study rooms in Mullins Library have a limit of 4 hours per day and may not fit the requirements for these kinds of tests.

Some alternative spaces you might check are:

  • Rooms available in the Union through Information Technology Services. Visit the link below to learn about the Single Person Recording Studio/Study Room(s) located in the Student Tech Center. NOTE: Please go see the rooms first to make sure they will fit your needs.
  • The Fayetteville Public Library has Adult Study Rooms available. Contact their Reference Desk (479-856-7250) or email questions@faylib.org to ask about those facilities.
  • If your test is not within the next few days, you can contact the User Services Department at libspace@uark.edu to see if an exception can be made to our study rooms policy.

If you have selected "at home" for your testing location, you will not be able to use the University of Arkansas Testing Center spaces to take your test. You may, however, contact ETS to see if you can change your location from "at home" to the University of Arkansas Testing Center.
