Q. Where can I find plat maps?

For current information:

Plat maps in Arkansas are provided in digital form through the Division of Land Surveys (see link below). Note that a plat map viewer must be installed to display and view the maps. Instructions for downloading that viewer is found on the website as well.

For historical information:

The University of Arkansas holds a series of guide books with the title of Family Maps of [CountyName] county for several counties in Arkansas but not all. These contain early plat maps for the county. To find our listing of the counties we have, do a title search in OneSearch for Family Maps of [CountyName]. You'll get a listing of all of the books in that series for various counties. We do not own all counties. Note: these are historical and can be used when researching original landowner information. For an example, see Family Maps of Benton County, linked below.

We hold some other historical plat map books that can be found searching OneSearch with the name of the county and map in the search box. Example: Washington County Arkansas map.

The Commissioner of State Lands Office holds many of the original land records. Some of those historical records can be found on Arkansas Historical Documents (cosl.org) (see link below).
