Q. If I request an item in the library catalog, how long does it take?

If an item is not checked out, your request should be available within 2 working days.
If you need an item urgently, you can obtain it more quickly by visiting the owning library.
If your requested item is checked out to another patron, your request can take up to two weeks, depending on the due date of the item.
If you need an item that is checked out right away, you may wish to place an Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad or ILL) request, rather than placing a request in the catalog. Most ILL book requests come within 7 working days.
